Service Robotics Laboratory - Universidad Pablo de Olavide
About
The Service Robotics Lab at UPO conduct research in the field of capabilities for robot autonomy, such as localization and mapping, autonomous navigation, perception, exploration, and task planning. In this regard, the group develops algorithms for both terrestrial and aerial robots (drones), as well as for systems involving multiple robots.
We also investigate methods for the integration and processing of sensors of various modalities, from computer vision to techniques for processing data from LiDAR, radar, and other types of sensors. For the development of advanced methods of perception and behavioral adaptation, the group researches machine learning techniques applied to robotics.
We are a group with a strong applied focus, and the results of our research have been demonstrated in diverse field applications, ranging from tedious and/or dangerous tasks, such as tunnel inspections, firefighting, inspection and maintenance, ATEX environments, and renewable energy projects, to collaborative robotics for industrial logistics, guiding people in tourist environments, and the use of telepresence robots for assistance tasks.
