About

RECON, a European defense platform designed to neutralize drones using radio frequency (RF) emissions. The project aims to develop the first comprehensive counter-drone system built entirely within the European Union, ensuring technological sovereignty and regulatory compliance. The technology has already reached Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 3, with a functional prototype capable of neutralizing drones at a distance of 200 meters. The project’s main objective is to extend this capability to a 1-kilometer operational range within 12 months, while integrating artificial intelligence to identify threats with high accuracy and distinguish drones from birds or authorized aircraft. To achieve this goal, the team is seeking a €5 million Series A investment to accelerate research and development, hardware acquisition, testing, and team expansion.

RECON addresses the growing threat posed by modified commercial drones, which can cause serious damage to critical infrastructure such as airports, power plants, and military facilities. Unlike traditional countermeasures that rely on missiles or physical interception—which are expensive and can create dangerous falling debris—RECON uses non-kinetic electronic neutralization, disabling drone electronics without collateral damage. The project targets the rapidly expanding global counter-drone market, which is expected to exceed $12 billion by 2032, with potential customers in defense, civil aviation, and critical infrastructure sectors. Its business model combines hardware sales with recurring AI-based software subscriptions for threat database updates and advanced analytics, enabling long-term revenue growth and global scalability.
