About
Coastal and short-sea shipping operators face tightening emissions regulations, unpredictable weather windows, and increasingly congested traffic in busy straits and coastal corridors. Traditional voyage planning tools rely on static charts and manual weather routing, leaving fuel and time savings on the table.
BlueChart's platform ingests real-time weather, current, tidal, and vessel traffic data to generate optimized routes that reduce fuel burn by up to 12% on typical short-sea legs, while flagging emerging hazards such as shifting sandbanks, restricted zones, or congested shipping lanes. The system integrates directly with existing ECDIS and fleet management software, requiring no hardware changes.
We are looking to partner with: (1) short-sea shipping operators and ferry companies for pilot deployments; (2) port authorities interested in integrating our traffic data into vessel traffic services (VTS); and (3) research institutions working on maritime autonomous navigation or emissions modeling, to validate and extend our routing algorithms.
Our goal is to build a network of pilot ports and fleets across EU coastal waters to demonstrate measurable fuel and emissions reductions ahead of upcoming IMO and EU ETS maritime requirements.
