SmartGreen Ports Alliance

The maritime industry is under increasing pressure to reduce emissions, improve energy efficiency and enhance the resilience of port operations. SmartGreen Ports Alliance brings together ports, technology providers, research institutions and logistics stakeholders to co-develop and deploy innovative solutions that combine digitalization and sustainability.

The project focuses on four main work packages: (1) Integrated Energy Management – onshore power systems, renewable energy integration and energy storage; (2) Digital Port Platform – real-time data sharing, AI-powered decision support and predictive analytics for optimized operations; (3) Green Logistics – low-emission solutions for port-hinterland connections and cargo handling; (4) Monitoring & Impact Assessment – measuring environmental and operational performance to support continuous improvement and compliance.

The alliance will pilot the solutions in selected partner ports, validate their scalability and create a replicable framework for other ports across the region and beyond. By joining forces, partners will access complementary expertise, funding opportunities and a strong network to accelerate innovation and market uptake.
