AUB Mediterraneo is the American University of Beirut’s first international branch campus, located in Pafos, Cyprus, and officially opened to students in the 2023–24 academic year. It aligns with AUB’s vision to become more global, diverse, and inclusive .Operating on the American liberal arts model, the campus emphasizes freedom of thought, critical thinking, lifelong learning, and fostering civic responsibility and leadership . Program accreditation comes through both the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) in the U.S. and the Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation (CYQAA). Academic offerings include several undergraduate programs—such as Philosophy, Politics & Economics (BA); Psychology (BS); Computer Science & Engineering (BS); Industrial Engineering (BS); and two tracks in Business Administration (Management and Digital Marketing, BBA)—as well as graduate programs in Engineering Management (MS) and Business Analytics (MS). AUB Mediterraneo encourages academic ties with its Beirut parent campus: students are required to undergo a residency in Beirut, which can take the form of an internship, a community-based project, or one to two academic terms at the main campus. With a goal to attract up to 2,000 students within its first decade, AUB Mediterraneo is poised to become a prominent hub for higher education and cultural exchange in the Eastern Mediterranean region.
