The importance of skin imprinting after vaccination against bite infections - Prof. Wim Adriaensen, Clinical Immunology Unit, Institute of Tropical Medicine
Location:Erasmus 1
Despite the critical role of tissue-resident memory T (TRM) cells in barrier immunity, their induction has not been routinely targeted in vaccine development. We will argue why this is of importance for vaccine development against bite infections, which vaccination strategies seem promising for skin Trm induction, and how we are studying this in humans with the model of yellow fever vaccination (GeKoSkimm trial).
