R&D Services

Izegem, Belgium

Poulpharm specializes in delivering high-quality research services, both at the diagnostic level and through the execution of (pre-)clinical studies conducted in its own testing facilities. All activities are carried out under strict quality standards, including ISO 17025, GCP, and GLP. In addition to its CRO services, Poulpharm is also active in the development and production of autogenous vaccines for animal health. This is supported by newly built GMP-like manufacturing facilities in Belgium, enabling rapid, flexible, and high-quality production of custom vaccines targeting viral and bacterial pathogens in poultry, swine, cattle, rabbits, and pigeons. Complementing our production capabilities is a large, well-characterized biobank that supports both our autovaccine pipeline and R&D initiatives. This biobank allows us to investigate field-isolated strains from Belgium and abroad, develop relevant disease models, and gain insights into pathogen diversity and host-pathogen interactions. We are actively seeking partners and clients for collaborative research, in vivo studies, and co-development opportunities. With a fully integrated approach—spanning biobank-supported strain analysis, tailored formulation, advanced manufacturing, and flexible in vivo testing—we offer robust and responsive solutions to address the evolving challenges in animal health.

About me

I hold a Master’s degree in analytical engineering with a specialization in biochemistry. I spent six years at Belgium’s public health institute, Sciensano, where I developed innovative assays for the quality control of human vaccines. During this time, I also completed a PhD thesis in veterinary sciences, focusing on novel vaccination strategies against Newcastle Disease. Following this, I joined Poulpharm, an international CRO based in West Flanders, to further expand my expertise in vaccinology, virology, and animal health.
