About

MAGELLAN, is a resilient astro-inertial navigation system designed for use in GNSS-denied environments. MAGELLAN integrates an inertial measurement unit (IMU) with a camera capable of detecting stars and the sun. A time server ensures synchronization, while a computing unit handles data acquisition, star detection and recognition, attitude and position determination, and navigation filtering. This enables the system to correct drift using celestial measurements. MAGELLAN has been tested in naval environments aboard frigates (FREMM, FDA), and STARNAV has also adapted the system for the Air Force, specifically for use on the C-130 aircraft, ATLANTIC 2. MAGELLAN can be adapted to any kind of application : Ships, Aircrafts, Ground vehicules, UAV, ...
