Pannon Tokaj Pincészet Kft.
About
Pannon Tokaj Ltd. founded its holdings in 2000. The wholly Hungarian-owned family winery started as a small hobby estate. Thanks to the maximalism and dedication of the owner, the vineyard area swelled to today's 22 hectares, which already produces a commercial amount of wine.
Our vineyards range in age from 5 to 30 years. Two-thirds of the area has been newly planted with modern vine spacing, featuring 5,200 vines per hectare. The remaining one-third has undergone vineyard renewal.
As the vineyard expanded, we continuously upgraded our winemaking technology. Our processing facility, established as a greenfield investment in the heart of Tolcsva, meets the most modern technological standards. Today, we can confidently say that all the conditions are in place for crafting exceptional Tokaji wines.
We cultivate the three most significant grape varieties of the Tokaj wine region. Furmint represents over 30% of our vineyards, while Hárslevelű and the newly bearing Sárgamuskotály each make up about 30%. An additional 10% is planted with the Zéta variety. These vineyards are located in some of the most renowned vineyard sites in Tolcsva—Kincsem, Rány, and Budaházi—as well as in the nearby area of Sárazsadány.
According to Tokaj wine law, Aszú wines must be aged and stored for three years in advance, allowing them to retain and even increase in value. Our ability to grow in the market is inherently tied to the advance accumulation of such reserves.
With an inventory of approximately 250,000 bottles, we are well-positioned to supply both European markets and our steadily growing Far Eastern export business.
