My organisation

The Transylvanian Furniture Cluster (TFC) is an innovative business ecosystem founded in 2012, based in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. It brings together over 100 members, including furniture manufacturers, research and development organizations, design studios, consultancy firms, educational institutions, and public authorities from the North-West region of Romania. TFC aims to enhance the competitiveness of the furniture industry by promoting collaboration, innovation, and sustainable development. The cluster serves as a strategic platform where companies and institutions work together to generate added value, access new markets, and implement environmentally responsible practices. Legally represented by Hygia Consult, TFC is officially recognized as a Gold Label cluster by the European Secretariat for Cluster Analysis (ESCA), acknowledging its excellence in cluster management and impact. Its strategic objectives include: Supporting internationalization and export growth, Promoting design-driven innovation and digital transformation, Facilitating access to education, research, and technological development, Encouraging the adoption of circular economy principles, Strengthening collaborative projects at national and European level TFC plays a key role in building a more competitive, sustainable, and resilient furniture industry in Romania, acting as a bridge between business, academia, and public policy. I am an environmental consultant and founder of Șerban și Asociații SRL, with over 20 years of experience helping companies navigate environmental regulations, sustainability strategies, and circular economy practices.

My background in engineering, economics, and environmental protection allows me to approach challenges from both a technical and strategic perspective. I am a certified Environmental Lead Auditor, Circular Economy Specialist, and Health & Safety Expert.

As Vice President of the TFC Cluster and an active member of multiple professional associations, I enjoy building partnerships that support innovation and sustainable growth across industries.
