About

The “Centre d’Initiatives et d’Actions Santé” (Center for Initiatives and Actions in Health) or CIAS is a Belgian non-profit organisation (ASBL), based in Nivelles (Wallonia) and Brussels, dedicated to promoting quality of life and healthy ageing at home. CIAS develops solutions tailored to the specific needs of older adults, people living with illness, and/or persons with disabilities, through a holistic approach that respects individual life choices.

Beyond providing advice and formal and material support, CIAS supports informal caregivers and fosters innovation by developing new home-based care solutions aimed at enabling people to remain at home for as long as possible and delaying institutionalisation. Its activities include guidance on home adaptation, prevention programmes and workshops, rental and sale of medical equipment, coordination of a network of home-care partners, and contributions to broader initiatives and policy reflections on population ageing and future care needs.
