About
The Faculty of Pharmacy at Comenius University Bratislava is Slovakia’s leading institution for pharmaceutical education and research. Established in 1952, the Faculty has a long-standing tradition of educating highly qualified pharmacy professionals and advancing pharmaceutical sciences.
Today, more than 1,000 undergraduate students and 50 graduate students from Slovakia and abroad study at the Faculty. Teaching and research activities are carried out across 11 departments by an academic community that includes 10 full professors, 30 associate professors, and 60 assistant professors. The Faculty is actively involved in 30 domestic and four international research grants, with total funding exceeding EUR 1.35 million in 2025.
Graduates of the Faculty pursue successful careers in Slovakia and internationally, including senior and management positions in regulatory authorities, research institutions, government bodies, pharmaceutical companies and universities. They are represented in institutions such as the State Institute for Drug Control, the Slovak Academy of Sciences, the Ministry of Health, the European Medicines Agency and the European Commission, as well as at universities and other institutions in the USA, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium and other countries.
The Faculty operates two pharmacies – the University Pharmacy and the Faculty Pharmacy – which serve both as public healthcare facilities and as important centres for practical education and professional training. It also maintains its own 1.5-hectare Medicinal Plant Garden, which supports teaching and research and preserves a diverse collection of approximately 850 plant species.
