ASNR, the French nuclear regulator, is in charge of the oversight of nuclear safety and radiation protection in France. Its missions include the nuclear industry as well as medical and non-medical applications of ionizing radiations and naturally occuring radioactivity. Its missions encompass oversight, regulation, emergency response, expertise, monitoring of sources of ionizing radiations (in the environment and their effects on people) and research.
