PRIMA – Longevity Policy Institute is an independent, non-profit research and policy organisation based in Cologne, Germany. Its name stands for Prevention and Innovation in Medicine and Ageing.
PRIMA works at the intersection of prevention, healthy longevity, biomedical innovation and European health policy. Our mission is to translate scientific advances into responsible public policy, research strategies and practical approaches that extend healthy life expectancy and reduce the burden of age-related and chronic diseases.
We connect researchers, healthcare professionals, policymakers, patient and civil-society organisations, innovators and other stakeholders. Our activities include policy analysis and recommendations, interdisciplinary research cooperation, stakeholder engagement, science communication and the development of ethical and regulatory frameworks for emerging health technologies.
In the field of cancer, PRIMA is particularly interested in prevention, early detection, predictive and ageing-related biomarkers, personalised risk reduction, health-system innovation, equitable access to medical advances and the responsible use of health data and artificial intelligence.
PRIMA is interested in joining European and international consortia where we can contribute expertise in health and research policy, regulatory and ethical analysis, stakeholder and patient engagement, dissemination, exploitation, public communication and the translation of research findings into prevention policy and practice.
