About

CELLnTEC Advanced Cell Systems AG is a Swiss biotechnology company specialising in precision cell culture technologies for primary human cells, stem cells and induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived cells. We develop and manufacture specialised, chemically defined cell culture media, including serum-free and animal-/human-component-free formulations, to control key cell behaviours such as isolation, expansion, differentiation, co-culture, tissue maturation and long-term maintenance.

Our solutions enable reproducible 2D and 3D cell systems for human-relevant in vitro model development, including organotypic tissue models, organoids and organ-on-chip / microphysiological systems. They also support tissue engineering, 3D bioprinting, regenerative medicine, cell-based therapy development and the development of novel cell-based materials. Applications span skin, ocular/corneal, lung, liver, bladder, vascular or other epithelial systems.

Beyond established products, CELLnTEC contributes to collaborative R&D through custom medium development and optimisation, adaptation of culture protocols for specific cell types and multicellular systems, and translation of complex laboratory formulations into more defined, reproducible and scalable processes. We combine cell biology with medium manufacturing, quality control and supply capabilities. Our Higher Certified (HC) media formats support translational workflows and qualification of culture media as raw materials in GMP-regulated cell- and tissue-therapy manufacturing, where appropriate.

CELLnTEC brings experience from collaborative research, including the Horizon Europe NEOLIVER project on 3D-bioprinted liver tissue. We seek Horizon Europe consortia in which a specialist industrial partner for cell culture media and process development can accelerate high-quality in vitro models, biofabrication and clinical translation.
