RNA Forecast e.U. is an Austrian company specialising in computational RNA biology, RNA structure analysis and RNA design. We support academic and biotechnology research by connecting RNA sequence, structure and function with practical experimental questions.
Our expertise includes RNA structure prediction, folding ensembles and accessibility, comparative genomics, conserved regulatory RNA elements, and the interpretation of experimental RNA structure probing data. We develop reproducible computational workflows and provide scientific analysis, research collaboration and specialist training in RNA bioinformatics.
A particular strength is virus bioinformatics, including flavivirus and alphavirus genomics and the structured RNA elements that regulate viral replication, translation and interactions with host factors. These capabilities support the identification and prioritisation of potential antiviral RNA targets, assessment of conservation across viral strains, and the design of constructs and mutations for experimental validation.
Founded by Michael T. Wolfinger, a co-developer of the ViennaRNA Package, RNA Forecast builds on extensive academic research experience in RNA computational biology and international scientific collaboration.
RNA Forecast seeks to participate in Horizon Europe consortia as an SME research partner, contributing specialist RNA modelling and viral genomics expertise alongside experimental virology, drug discovery and therapeutic development partners.
Austrian SME seeking a consortium for HORIZON-HLTH-2027-01-DISEASE-05. We contribute viral RNA structure analysis, comparative genomics and computational support for target prioritisation and experimental validation.
