About
The company is a French SME with long standing small molecule drug discovery, optimization and Medicinal Chemistry expertise including a Chemoinformatic drug discovery platform.
Its novel viral polymerase inhibitor focused chemical libraries could be a promising jump-starting point for screening within the consortia, and further optimization towards relevant drug target profile can be performed locally with the team expertise.
The active site polymerase inhibitors have proved over the decades to be one of the best class of direct acting antiviral with highest intra-family and variant/mutant-transcending potential.
With the sought mode of action of these small molecules, all 6 viruses/groups of viruses of interest in this call can be tackled and lead compounds selectively optimized to the specific virus/group of viruses selected.
The company has the expertise and synthesis & MedChem capabilities from the hit generation, hit to lead and lead optimisation phases up to preclinical candidate selection.
The company is therefore looking to be a medicinal chemistry and synthetic chemistry partner within consortia, primarily on TBEV/JEV or EV-D68 or VEEV (+ssRNAv) to join forces on the Development of novel small molecule antiviral therapeutics and/or prophylactic for pathogens with epidemic potential (HORIZON-HLTH-2027-01-DISEASE-05).
The consortia would ideally be composed of additional complementary partners for a goal-focused efficient project team covering:
- in vitro and ex-vivo (primary cells) antiviral activity + toxicity
- in vitro moa
- in vivo or in vitro 3D testing
- preclinical regulatory tox
- CMC expert for preclinical/clinical GMP batch production
- Regulatory filing expert
- Clinical KOL
- Coordinator
