Liquid-biopsy + AI biomarker of β-cell decline: partner for predictive biomarkers in diabetes or cardiometabolic disease (TOOL-01)
Professor, CEO/Founder at ABCureD
Alexandroupoli, Greece
About
ABCureD, the biomedical spin-off of Democritus University of Thrace (Greece), together with the university’s Laboratory of Pharmacology, is looking to join a consortium as the β-cell biomarker and liquid-biopsy partner.
Current diabetes biomarkers (HbA1c, glucose, C-peptide) show the consequences of β-cell failure. They don’t directly measure β-cell loss. Our patented LPancreas technology combines a cell-free DNA methylation signature of β-cell death with AI analysis. The result is a minimally invasive, direct readout of β-cell decline from a blood sample.
What we bring:
-
A patented biomarker (granted EP patent), with clinical data and validation to date
-
An established AI and bioinformatics pipeline, ready to adapt and integrate with other biomarkers, longitudinal data and real-world data
-
Laboratory capacity to analyse biobanked plasma from partner cohorts
-
Type 1 and type 2 diabetes cohorts in Greece, including paediatric sample collection
-
Clinical pharmacology expertise and an international diabetes research network
-
SME exploitation and commercialisation capacity
Track record: EIC Seal of Excellence; EP PerMed-funded project ; Pfizer Smart4Health award; Women TechEU Badge of Honour.
Looking for: a coordinator or consortium working on predictive biomarkers in type 2 diabetes, prediabetes, type 1 diabetes or cardiometabolic disease. We are especially interested in consortia with longitudinal cohorts or trials.
Role sought: Partner (work-package lead or task lead )
