About

My research focuses on Healthcare workforce well-being and retention, nursing leadership, professional competencies, and evidence-based practice. My work explores how organisational conditions and professional practice influence the quality and safety of care. I am engaged in EBP research and implementation studies, including older people and chronic care needs, to support person-centred services and healthcare innovation.

I combine clinical and nursing education and coordination experience with quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, evidence synthesis, and the cross-cultural adaptation and psychometric validation of assessment instruments.

For the Horizon Europe Health calls 2027, I am seeking collaboration as a nursing and health services research partner, with interest in task or Work Package leadership. Potential areas of collaboration include:

HORIZON-HLTH-2027-01-STAYHLTH-01 — Addressing disabilities through the life course to support independent living and inclusion

I can contribute a nursing and care organisation perspective, particularly in relation to older people and individuals with complex care needs. Possible contributions include assessing unmet care needs, exploring patients’ and caregivers’ experiences, evaluating care models that support autonomy and inclusion, testing new tecnologies in chronic care. I am also interested in examining the professional competencies, workforce resources, and organisational conditions needed to deliver accessible, person-centred care across hospital and community settings.

HORIZON-HLTH-2027-01-ENVHLTH-MISSCLIMA-03 — Tools and technologies to support health adaptation to climate change

I am interested in supporting healthcare providers and public procurers in identifying frontline care needs and defining user requirements for climate adaptation solutions. Drawing on my research into work organisation and instrument development, I could contribute to assessing how proposed tools affect staff workflows, preparedness, and continuity of care, patient adherence, particularly for vulnerable patients. Potential contributions include stakeholder consultation, usability assessment, training needs analysis, and evaluation of organisational feasibility within a procurer-led consortium.

HORIZON-HLTH-2027-02-DISEASE-01-two-stage — Innovative healthcare interventions for non-communicable diseases

I am interested in joining multidisciplinary consortia evaluating interventions for chronic conditions, bringing expertise in nursing care, patient experiences, and research methodology. Possible contributions include patient and caregiver needs assessment, selection and validation of patient-reported measures, and evaluation of acceptability, self-management support, and care delivery. Within a clinical trial consortium, I could contribute complementary research on the nursing processes, professional competencies, and organisational factors that influence intervention delivery and future adoption.

HORIZON-HLTH-2027-01-CARE-02 — Personalised approaches to reduce risks from Adverse Drug Reactions due to administration of multiple medications

I can contribute a nursing perspective to multidisciplinary research on medication safety, particularly for older people and patients with multimorbidity. Potential contributions include exploring patient and caregiver understanding of medication regimens, assessing educational needs, and examining communication and coordination across care transitions. Working alongside clinical pharmacology, pharmacy, and personalised medicine partners, I could help evaluate how new approaches fit into nursing workflows and support the recognition, monitoring, and reporting of adverse drug reactions.

HORIZON-HLTH-2027-03-TOOL-04 — Virtual Human Twins (VHTs) for integrated clinical decision support in prevention and diagnosis

I am interested in collaborating with clinical and technical partners to bring nursing and end-user perspectives into the design and evaluation of Virtual Human Twin applications. Possible contributions include identifying clinical workflow requirements, engaging nurses and patients in co-design, and assessing usability, acceptability, and training needs. My research expertise could support evaluation of the effects on nursing workload, care coordination, and professional practice, helping consortia understand the organisational conditions needed for adoption.

Partners sought: I welcome contact with consortium coordinators, universities, hospitals, community healthcare providers, public procurers, technology developers, and patient organisations preparing proposals under these topics.
