Programmable Light-driven DNA synthesis for large nucleic acid oligonucleotide libraries
Funding Manager Health at imec
Leuven, Belgium
About
Ultra-high throughput, programmable wafer-scale light-driven DNA synthesis inspired by semiconductor equipment concepts, such as surface patterning, programmable lithography, and fast reagent exchange. The goal is a drastic reduction of synthesis costs for large nucleic acid oligonucleotide libraries.
Imec is actively looking for partners to further develop this technology. Please see below, the activities imec could cover for the selected Health 2027 call topics.
-
HORIZON-HLTH-2027-01-IND-01: Cell-free protein synthesis platforms for discovery and/or production of biologicals
In the context of this call, our DNA synthesis platform could be used to generate many variants / designs of:
Transcription and translation machinery to improve performance of lysate properties. Ex: optimise ribosome binding sites (which affect protein expression levels)
DNA templates encoding target protein to optimise for expression and protein quality (e.g. promoter strength, coding sequence for improved folding)
