About
Digital Health Slovakia is the leading national non-profit association dedicated to building a connected, standards-based digital health ecosystem in the Slovak Republic. We bridge the gap between healthcare providers, industry, and academia. Our core mission is to accelerate the adoption of international best practices and interoperability standards (HL7 FHIR, EEHRxF) to improve patient outcomes and health system efficiency. We are the national affiliate for HL7 in Slovakia.
As a key player in the Slovak digital transformation landscape, we specialize in:
-
Digital Health Interoperability: Promoting standardized data exchange and EHDS readiness.
-
Workforce Upskilling: Designing and delivering certified training for healthcare and social services staff.
-
Policy & Advocacy: Supporting national and EU-level policy development for digital health integration.
-
Stakeholder Engagement: Mobilizing a diverse network of healthcare professionals and IT solution providers.
DigitalHealthSlovakia is a proud partner in the Xpanding Innovative Alliance (XiA) project (2025–2028), a flagship EU initiative funded under the Erasmus+ Alliances for Innovation. Building on the success of XpanDH, XiA addresses the digital skills gap by developing personalized learning pathways and micro-credentials for healthcare professionals across 18+ countries. Our work focuses on preparing the Slovak healthcare workforce for the European Health Data Space (EHDS) and the European Electronic Health Record Exchange Format (EEHRxF).
