About

Institute of Rural Health named after Witold Chodźko in Lublin is a leading public research and scientific institution focused on the health of rural populations. Its activities encompass interdisciplinary research, health prevention, health promotion, and the implementation of evidence-based solutions supporting public health policies and practices.

The Institute has long-standing experience in designing and implementing large-scale national and international projects addressing lifestyle-related diseases, addictions, occupational health, mental health, and psychosocial determinants of health. It has successfully contributed to programmes funded under international mechanisms and national strategic frameworks, including the National Health Programme.

A distinctive strength of the Institute lies in its expertise in working with rural and older populations, as well as in the application of digital health and e-health solutions. Through initiatives such as Lublin e-IMW, the Institute has enhanced access to healthcare services and improved digital health literacy among patients and healthcare professionals. This combination of scientific expertise, practical implementation capacity, and strong alignment with public health priorities makes the Institute a reliable scientific leader and partner in projects aimed at improving wellbeing and reducing health inequalities.
