The Laboratory of Molecular Oncology and Innovative Therapies (LOMTI) in MIM-NRI

The Laboratory of Molecular Oncology and Innovative Therapies (LOMTI) is a research and development unit conducting studies in the field of basic sciences and participating in clinical research. The laboratory’s research focuses on oncology, including the tumor microenvironment and mechanisms of drug resistance; immunology, with particular emphasis on the course of immune responses in various diseases such as COVID-19 and eczema; cardiology, especially the role of cardiac hypoxia at the cellular level; in vitro disease models, including blood–brain barrier models and organoids derived from cancer tumors; and gene therapies, with an emphasis on the development of new vectors for therapeutic genes.
