University of Belgrade – Institute of Chemistry, Technology and Metallurgy (ICTM)

ICTM is a renowned multidisciplinary scientific research institution with expertise in chemistry and its accompanying technologies. Activities are organized through six scientific departments, two Centres of Excellence, and an ISO/IEC 17025-certified Laboratory for Instrumental Analysis. Research are focused on the basic sciences which covers chemistry (synthetic organic, inorganic, medicinal, computational, analytical, and biochemistry), instrumental analysis, natural products, metabolomics, biotechnology (innovative enzyme technologies, bioremediation methods and technologies, land management and therapeutic proteins), catalysis, electrochemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, polymers, environmental protection, microelectronics (design and development of sensors, microelectromechanical systems, microfluidics, nanoscience, and nanotechnology). Additionally, our researchers have experience in applied research, as well as knowledge and technology transfer in the aforementioned areas. The Institute has 220 researchers, of whom more than 160 hold PhDs, primarily chemists, physico-chemists, and engineers specializing in chemical technology. We have experience in EU projects, both as a coordinator and as a partner or participant institution.
