The University of Galway is a public research university located in Galway, in the west of Ireland. The University was founded in 1845 and started with just 68 students. Since then, we have grown to teach a student population today of over 19,000. Over the past decade, we have been steadily increasing our global reach and reputation. According to QS World University Rankings, we are now ranked in the top 2% of universities worldwide and the top 100 universities in Europe.
