About

ECRIN (European Clinical Research Infrastructure Network) is a non-profit, European research infrastructure supporting high-quality, multinational clinical studies. By connecting national networks of clinical trial units across 13 member countries, ECRIN facilitates seamless collaboration for investigator-led and SME-driven studies across all disease areas.

With a mission to advance clinical research and address Europe’s major health challenges, ECRIN provides expert, tailored support throughout the study lifecycle, including study planning and design, regulatory and ethical submissions, monitoring, vigilance, data management and data sharing. ECRIN’s services help navigate Europe’s complex legal and regulatory landscape, making multi-country studies more efficient and effective, in any medical field. Additionally, ECRIN continues to develop tools, methods and partnerships that help researchers navigate emerging challenges in clinical research, including data sharing and secondary use, new trial designs and innovative therapies and devices.

As a Landmark ESFRI infrastructure and an ERIC (European Research Infrastructure Consortium), ECRIN plays a key role in strengthening the European Research Area. It supports a growing portfolio of 75+ multinational clinical studies and 50+ international infrastructure projects and is ISO 9001:2015 certified for its core services.

ECRIN’s unique service-based access model enables academic investigators, sponsors, and SMEs to benefit from a coordinated suite of services delivered by its Paris-based core team and national partners. This operational and scientific expertise makes ECRIN a key partner in Horizon Europe, particularly for collaborative health research projects seeking to deliver impactful, transnational solutions.

By reinforcing national capabilities, enhancing cross-border collaboration, and promoting data sharing and harmonisation, ECRIN helps optimise resources, accelerate clinical research, and boost Europe’s global competitiveness in health innovation.
