MIRRI-ERIC - Microbial Resource Research Infrastructure — European Research Infrastructure Consortium

The Microbial Resource Research Infrastructure — European Research Infrastructure Consortium (MIRRI-ERIC) is the pan-European distributed Research Infrastructure for the preservation, systematic investigation, provision, and valorisation of microbial resources and biodiversity. MIRRI-ERIC brings together 47 microbial domain Biological Resource Centres (mBRCs), culture collections, and research institutes from eight European countries (Belgium, France, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Portugal, and Spain as Members, and Romania as an Observer) and connects an unparalleled collection of over 180.000 high-quality microbial resources from across Europe in a single access point, having its activities particularly focused on the fields of Health & Food, Agro-Food, and Environment & Energy. By supporting researchers and industry, collaborating with other research infrastructures and European and global initiatives, and engaging with public authorities and policymakers, MIRRI-ERIC plays a vital role in advancing research and innovation in life sciences and biotechnology. It also contributes to a sustainable, competitive, and resilient bioeconomy, aligning with the priorities of the European Research Area while supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
