Enterosys is a preclinical Contract Research Organization (CRO) specialized in the physiological exploration of the gut-organ axis, including the enteric nervous system (ENS), intestinal barrier, microbiota-host interactions, and peripheral organ communication (brain, liver, skin, cardio-metabolic systems, immune system). We develop and use innovative real-time in vitro / ex vivo / in vivo functional models to evaluate the effects of drugs, dietary supplements, microbiome-targeting therapies, and other bioactive compounds on digestive and systemic health.

Our platforms support early-stage R&D, mechanism-of-action studies, and translational proof-of-concept, with strong applicability to non-communicable diseases (NCDs), including neurodegenerative, metabolic, inflammatory, and functional gastrointestinal disorders. Enterosys also contributes to New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) by providing alternative models to reduce animal use and accelerate biomedical innovation. We are looking for partners in EU projects involving gut-brain axis, ENS, microbiota, NAMs, and chronic disease prevention.
