Sfax University, is ranked the second Tunisian university. It contains 20 high education institutions and an outstanding Public Hospital attached to the Faculty of Medicine, with over 500 physicians across different medical specialties (endocrinology, cardiology, neurology, carcinology, nephrology, hematology, respiratory diseases, genetics, immunology, biochemistry, histopathology, microbiology, etc...... The mission of this public hospital is to provide public quality health care to the citizens and to develop research in many fields of medical research. Indeed University of Sfax and its public hospital host a multidisciplinary research group having expertise in experimental, clinical and biologic research and a strong network and track record in medical research.
