About
Project Title: The Impact of Climate Change on the Reproductive Health of Women and Newborns: A Comprehensive Clinical and Environmental Study.
Project Acronym: CLIM-MOTHER.
Funding Scheme: Research and Innovation Action (RIA).
Duration: 48 months.
Target TRL: Transitioning from TRL 2-3 (fundamental mechanisms) to TRL 5-6 (prototype decision support systems).
1. Rationale and Objectives
Climate change represents a primary threat of the 21st century, particularly for vulnerable groups such as women of reproductive age and newborns. Despite increasing data regarding the frequency of premature births and pregnancy complications linked to extreme heat and air pollution, integrative risk models remain underdeveloped.
The CLIM-MOTHER project aims to establish a scientifically justified system for the quantitative assessment and forecasting of climatic influences on reproductive and newborn health.
