Expertise in developing anti-infective agents and antibody-based therapies.

Assistant Professor at University of Cagliari (UNICA)

About

The Microbiology and Virology Laboratories include the BSL2 Virology, Molecular Biology, and Protein Misfolding Laboratories, as well as the BSL3 Laboratory. All of these laboratories are equipped for the detection and phenotypic and genotypic characterisation of microorganisms in biological samples, as well as related experimental procedures such as cell culture and biological and molecular assays for the isolation, purification and characterisation of microorganisms (e.e.g. molecular cloning, qPCR), protein expression (e.g. Western blot), and enzyme immunoassays (e.g., ELISA). Our highly qualified microbiology team comprises professors, researchers, postdoctoral researchers, and PhD students. They are equipped to conduct research into RNA and DNA viruses and their associated diseases, with a particular focus on highly transmissible respiratory viruses and emerging pathogens such as Hantavirus, Flavivirus, Picornavirus, Coronavirus, and Poxvirus. The team's diverse composition and broad expertise enable comprehensive investigations into these important biological and medical issues. We are offering our expertise in developing anti-infective agents and antibody-based therapies.
