Smart and multifunctional biomaterials - Infection-aware regenerative therapies

Senior Researcher at Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche

Naples, Italy

About

We are developing advanced bioprinted tissue constructs based on smart, biomimetic bioinks that integrate magnetic nanoparticles and antibacterial functionalities within fully nature-derived, sustainable and biodegradable materials, inspired by native bone and cartilage extracellular matrix.

By combining external magnetic stimulation with biomechanically informed design, applied during and after bioprinting, we enable real-time, non-invasive monitoring, dynamic modulation of construct maturation and infection-aware tissue development.

Our platform is further strengthened by the development of dedicated bioreactors, integrated biosensors and biomechanical testing strategies, supporting advanced in vitro models for research, preclinical validation and translational applications.
