About
GMD® GmbH is an innovative GreenTech company and Verified Social Enterprise based at the HealthHub Tirol in Innsbruck. The company develops autonomous edge IoT sensor systems, smart weather and environmental monitoring solutions, and AI-powered data platforms for analysing and predicting natural hazards, climate impacts, and infrastructure stress. Through its proprietary GeoSenseAI® platform, GMD integrates high-resolution real-time data from sensors, drone surveys, and satellite sources to provide robust decision support for municipalities, emergency services, and infrastructure operators.
To advance application-oriented research, prototype development, and field testing, GMD has established its own ClimateTech Laboratory in Innsbruck. Here, new hardware and software solutions are co-developed, tested, and scaled together with scientific partners, public authorities, and infrastructure operators for operational deployment.
With its interdisciplinary team and strong partnerships across the Alpine region and the wider European research landscape, GMD supports the development of resilient, climate-adapted regions and delivers scalable technological solutions for civil protection, public health, tourism, energy, and alpine infrastructure.
