Cardiovascular Preclinical Model Expertise for Horizon Europe Health Consortia

Senior Lecturer and Principal Investigator at University College Cork

Cork, Ireland

About

I offer  expertise in cardiovascular and cardio-oncology research, with a strong focus on cardiotoxicity, cardioprotection, and translational pharmacology. My research integrates cellular, molecular, and systems-level approaches to understand and mitigate cardiovascular injury associated with disease and therapeutic interventions (e.g. cancer treatments).

I have experience with both in vitro and in vivo models of cardiovascular disease, including doxorubicin induced cardiotoxicity, cardiac hypertrophy, myocardial infarction and diabetes.

I have a strong interest in projects that bridge basic mechanisms with clinical relevance, including personalised medicine, safer therapeutics, and innovative preclinical evaluation strategies.
