DICOM 3D Medical Imaging Viewer: Browser-Based Multi-Planar Reconstruction with Volume Rendering for Clinical Visualization
Research Collaborator / Biomedical Engineering Graduate at Isik University
Istanbul, Türkiye
About
This project is a browser-based medical imaging visualization tool that enables clinicians and researchers to view DICOM files without desktop software installation.
Key capabilities:
-
Multi-planar reconstruction across axial, coronal, and sagittal planes
-
Interactive 3D volume rendering using surface ray marching and Phong shading
-
Window/level adjustments with tissue-specific presets (brain, bone, lung)
-
Hounsfield Unit-based density thresholding for tissue isolation
Technical stack: React, WebGL, deployed on Vercel
Looking for: Partners interested in extending this viewer with AI-powered segmentation, clinical validation studies, or integration into hospital PACS systems.
