Boston Scientific is one of the largest medical device companies in the world and has a long partnership with Ireland with over 4,500 employees based on the Island, distributed in three locations: Galway, Cork and Clonmel.
The Clonmel site have been involved in several previous Horizon projects and two that are currently ongoing.

Boston Scientific Clonmel is the largest in terms of Value of Production in the worldwide Boston Scientific network of plants, being the sole manufacturer of all implantable electronics including Pacemakers, Cardiac Defibrillators and Neuromodulation devices. The Clonmel site has a long history of producing complex active electronic medical device implants and is engaged in all elements of Manufacturing (Quality, Research and Development, Product Performance, Engineering Operations, HR, Regulatory and Finance). The Process Development division within this site has been involved in numerous new product introductions and is the lead unit on site for both New Products, Technology, Prototype Development and Design for Manufacture. In addition to its core Process Development and R&D activities, the group has also dedicated Software, Electronic and Test Engineering Teams.
