Contribution to the Expected Outcomes of the Call

Strengthened capacity of life sciences actors in science communication, risk communication, public outreach, and citizen engagement

FVA contributes methodologies for knowledge transfer and capacity building, with solid experience in designing and delivering training-of-trainers, stakeholder workshops, and co-creation sessions involving researchers, policymakers, industry and civil society.

Strengthened public awareness of risks and benefits of life sciences and their societal impact

FVA develops high-impact communication assets translating R&I results into accessible content through:
• science storytelling and visual communication;
• educational design (children’s books, youth materials);
• interactive exhibitions and science-art installations;
• gamified experiences, hands-on labs and experiments.

New and innovative, inclusive and participatory approaches to public engagement

Deep expertise in co-creation, participatory and multi-actor methodologies involving citizens, researchers, civil society, policymakers and businesses in structured co-design processes.

Contribution to the Core Activities of the Call

Advisory support and training on science and risk communication

Development of modular training packages tailored to diverse life science stakeholders.
Design and deployment of innovative participatory methodologies, applied in 50+ workshops at local and EU level.

FVA brings extensive experience in building synergies across EU projects, through its long-standing role in coordinating The European Bioeconomy Network (EuBioNet), a community of 160+ projects. Through this framework, FVA has demonstrated the ability to maximise collective impact via structured knowledge sharing, networking and joint activities.

Produce, publish and advertise guidance to engage citizens upstream

FVA has developed co-creation methodologies supporting innovators in implementing multi-actor processes for responsible life sciences innovation.

Produce, publish and advertise an accessible repository of tools on risk communication

Strong experience in curating, adapting and disseminating toolkits from previous EU-funded projects (BlueMissionMed, GenB, LIFT).
Expertise in:
• identifying relevant tools;
• tailoring them to life science contexts;
• designing accessible, long-lasting repositories;
• ensuring active uptake through strong outreach strategies.
FVA led Dissemination & Communication in 10+ EU projects.

Design and run community engagement activities in partnership with local actors

FVA designs and implements community engagement formats with science museums, research organisations, schools and EU initiatives.
Experience includes:
• large-scale public events and science festivals;
• the ability to reach 350,000+ people across Europe;
• specific expertise in agriculture, food systems, biotechnology and sustainability (12 projects), fully aligned with the call’s priorities.
