Project Concept

We are preparing a Horizon Europe proposal focused on preventing the progression of type 2 diabetes and reducing its major complications through a multisectoral implementation framework that connects healthcare services, municipalities, community organizations, sports and rehabilitation infrastructures, digital health technologies, and policymakers.

The project aims to develop and evaluate scalable, community-integrated lifestyle interventions supported by AI-based decision tools, biomarker-guided personalization, and implementation science approaches. Particular emphasis will be placed on health equity, sustainability, and large-scale adoption across different European settings.

Partners Sought

We are looking for partners with expertise in:

• Endocrinology, primary care, cardiology, nephrology, neurology, and rehabilitation

• Public health and implementation science

• Municipalities and local authorities

• Sports science and exercise interventions

• Digital health, AI, and wearable technologies

• Health economics and policy research

• NGOs, patient associations, and community engagement

·         Nutrition and dietetics expertise

Expected Contribution

Partners may contribute to:

• Patient recruitment and clinical studies

• Community-based intervention implementation

• Exercise and lifestyle program development

• Digital health and AI solutions

• Implementation research and health equity assessment

• Health economics, policy recommendations, and scalability strategies

Mersin University will coordinate the proposal and is currently seeking committed partners interested in co-developing a strong and impactful consortium.
