About

The Technical University of Cluj-Napoca comprises twelve faculties distributed in the two university centers, Cluj-Napoca and Baia Mare, to which are added the extensions in the localities of Alba Iulia, Bistrița, Satu Mare and Zalău. The educational offer, organized in the Bologna system, includes bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs, as well as continuing education programs.. The fields of study have a wide scope, from engineering to architecture, fundamental sciences, socio-humanities and arts. Also, within the Technical University, there is the Department for Continuing Education, Distance and Short-Form Education, which organizes and carries out continuing education activities and programs, postgraduate courses, programs and courses for continuous professional development or based on occupational standards.

Research is, along with education, the main priority of the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca. In all faculties of the university there are research structures, from collectives, groups and laboratories, to research centers and platforms. Performance anchored in the perspective of the socio-economic environment, visibility and international cooperation, as well as scientific novelty and interdisciplinarity are some of the characteristics of the research environment at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca. The open research directions are oriented towards global priorities and perspectives: from information technology and communications, to renewable energies and ecology; from superconductivity, spintronics and nanomaterials, to management and robotics; from mechatronics and electrical engineering, to the automobile and the home of the future, or to urbanism and society.
