Better Connecting Communities, Sustainably: The Future of Regional Air Mobility
Cormorant is an innovative, 8-seat, versatile and adaptable, electrically powered aircraft. Green hydrogen is seen to be the optimal energy vector over the medium- to longer-term.
Our USP is a combination of factors that coalesce in the Cormorant aircraft:
(NET-)ZERO CO2 EMISSIONS - All-electric propulsion and minimal infrastructure dependency, AMPHIBIOUS CAPABLE - Utilisable on both land and water with short take-off and landing (STOL) capabilities, FLEXIBLE CABIN - Reconfigurable, e.g., for passenger, cargo, or medical transport, SAFETY - In thrust-line, low centre of gravity yields improved manoeuvrability and stability; enclosed propeller reduces on-surface propeller strike incidents, EFFICIENT - Innovative design using composite materials with ducted fan design provides enhanced performance and excellent endurance
Versatility is provided through its quickly interchangeable boat hull, which can be attached for amphibious operations or removed for operation from land only. Adaptability arises from Cormorant's easily reconfigurable cabin that allows for a variety of mission types; these include, e.g., service provision for remote communities (passenger and/or light cargo flights), point-to-point operations, medevac, and reconnaissance.
Conceived to address design issues in current amphibious aircraft configurations, Cormorant presents as an aviation platform in which to integrate the optimal (net-)zero carbon powertrain technology to achieve a clean, certified, commercially available transport solution in the shortest timeframe.
As an integrator and designer & developer of an innovative aviation transport solution, we welcome collaborations with those developing appropriate green hydrogen fuelled, zero CO2 powertrain solutions and associated systems & equipment.
