ZEUS - Zero Emission Unmanned power Station
About
The ZEUS concept incorporates an indirect sCO2 power cycle with high-pressure oxy-combustion. The exhaust gas liquefies instantly when cooled. The ZEUS concept is anticipated to be located offshore near production and injection wells, resulting in short-traveled gas, short-traveled CO2, and clean power.
Furthermore, the ZEUS plant can address the intermittent nature of offshore wind turbine parks, improving its business viability. Combustion pressure is sourced naturally from the wells, and oxygen is supplied at the corresponding pressure from the ASU. The resulting high pressure enables the instant liquefaction of the exhaust when cooled, facilitating its re-injection into nearby formations through pumps. This process enhances production rates over the reservoir's lifespan.
Aker Solutions is seeking R&D Partners and Technology Partners to collaborate on formulating a research proposal for suitable funding schemes. Additionally, potential investors and end-users are welcome to participate in the commercialization of the ZEUS concept.
