AI-assisted solar steam generation and thermal storage for heating applications in European Dairy Industry - SOLDAIRY
Senior Researcher at Iberian Centre for Research in Energy Storage - CIIAE
Caceres, Spain
About
SOLDAIRY adapts the solar-steam and latent-heat-storage concept to European dairy processing. It will develop a modular thermal battery that stores high-temperature renewable heat and dispatches steam or pressurised hot water to UHT, evaporation, pasteurisation and cleaning duties. The technology is climate-adaptive and AI-assisted solution having Linear Fresnel solar heat prioritised at high-DNI sites, while recovered refrigeration heat upgraded by a high-temperature heat pump is prioritised at Nordic sites. The same storage, steam-generation and control platform enables replication across climates while retaining the existing boiler for peak demand and resilience.
