Development of an Integrated Prototype System for Hydrogen Production
About
The main objective of this project is to create a zero-carbon emission, high-value-added iron and steel production technology that reduces dependence on fossil fuels. The project entails the following steps:
1. Hydrogen will be produced through seawater electrolysis using a unique system.
2. This hydrogen will then be used to reduce iron oxides in a specially designed direct reduction iron (DRI) furnace.
3. The resulting sponge iron (DRI) will be utilized in steel production via electric arc furnaces.
This approach presents a hydrogen production model that can be integrated with renewable energy sources, paving the way for carbon-neutral steel production.
