Hydrogen Transport & Storage Technology (LOHC)
About
There are several technology to transport, storage hydrogen, not only Ammonia, Liquified hydrogen.
Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carrier (LOHC) is promising technology to store hydrogen safely, easily, under ambient conditions, by using existing oil infrastructure (ex. tankers, burges, train, truck, etc.), which lead to minimize the investment and timeframe to develop hydrogen supply chain infrastructure.
Chiyoda offer comprehensive technology and engineering service to develop hydrogen supply chain by LOHC technology together with our partner, which has following use cases.
-
Global Hydrogen Supply Chain
Transport large volume of hydrogen from exporting countries /regions (ex. Scotland) to importing countries /regions (ex. Netherlands, Germany, Belgium), mainly by shipping to add flexibility, efficiency for enhancing security of supply, to global market.
-
Local Hydrogen Distribution Network
Distribute hydrogen not only by hydrogen pipeline, but also existing burge (river), train, truck, pipeline, as form of liquid (LOHC) to each hydrogen off-takers
-
Large scale renewables/hydrogen storage
Storage massive renewable energy stably as form of hydrogen (LOHC) for long term by using existing petroleum tanks, salt caverns, etc., to absorb its fluctuations and also to have national strategic reserves for security of supply in future.
