About event
The Clean Energy Transition Partnership stakeholder event in Malta brings together experts, innovators, and policymakers to advance clean energy solutions in the Mediterranean region. It will foster collaboration, showcase cutting-edge projects, and explore actionable strategies to accelerate the transition to a sustainable energy future.
The event is hosted by the local government agency Xjenza Malta in conjunction with the CETPartnership General Assembly and co-organised with TRI1, TRI2, TRI3 and TRI5, who will also contribute to moderating the event.
After an introductory focus on Malta's priorities and projects, two thematic sessions will aim at:
Exploring how hybrid energy systems can facilitate the transition of islands towards net-zero emissions.
-
Discussing how Malta’s existing water infrastructure, including desalination plants and reservoirs, can be leveraged to optimise energy use and support the clean energy transition.
-
Fostering collaboration between local and international stakeholders in developing scalable solutions for island energy systems, particularly in the Mediterranean context.
-
Exploring the role of offshore renewables (wind, solar) as the backbone for green hydrogen production and energy security in the Mediterranean.
-
To discuss synergies between offshore renewables and hydrogen, focusing on technological integration, policy alignment, and economic viability.
-
To identify actionable pathways for Malta to leverage offshore renewables and hydrogen within regional decarbonisation efforts.
