Small or Medium Enterprise (SME)
Roma, ItalyInteragens s.r.l. ( http://www.interagens.com ), founded in 2006, is a microcompany specialized in advanced Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics and Machine Learning software development services, with the aim of realizing effective interactions between users and software or multimedia systems in multiple application areas: video games, communication, education, training.
We participate to EU and US Research & Development projects on such topics.
For instance, we are collaborating with the US NRL’s Navy Center for Applied Research in AI on an AI research project, funded by the Office of Naval Research Global, in which we are extending goal reasoning from the control of single or few homogeneous autonomous systems to the control of heterogeneous distributed autonomous systems, and experimentally testing it in a simulated environment.
We have collaborated with the University of Ulm (Germany) to "Helping Parents Minds" a citizen science project funded by the EU Horizon Europe Impetus program ( https://impetus4cs.eu/helping-parents-minds/ ), in which we have developed a mobile game prototype that trains parents’ ability to think about the mental states underlying their children’s behaviour and to respond in a way that supports their children’s needs.
We have collaborated with the US R&D company Charles River Analytics Inc. on a research project, funded by DARPA, that has developed an AI system which merges symbolic and sub-symbolic reasoning for effective operation in open worlds, using complex games such as Monopoly and Minecraft as testbeds. With the US company Alelo Inc. we have worked on a research project, funded by the ONR SBIR program, aimed at developing a real-time user model that continuously evaluates the performance of foreign language learners to personalize instructional simulations accordingly.
We have been partner of "eCircus", a 3-years long research project co-funded with 2.6M Euros by the VI Framework Programme of the European Union, in which we contributed to developing two serious games based on autonomous agent architectures built on top of a Belief-Desire-Intention system and of a production system.
Our clients include high profile Italian public administrations and national and foreign companies, such as the Presidency of the Italian Council of Ministries, the Italian Post Office, Merck Sharp & Dohme Inc.
Interagens has received several prizes and grants, including the BIC Lazio (Business Innovation Centre of the Latium Region, Italy) first prize for the best business idea based on research carried out in Universities of the Lazio Region, and four grants from the City of Rome, the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, the Province of Rome and the Latium Region.
Interagens' European-patented software technology for authoring and controlling Interactive Animated Characters was rated 1st (out of 25 competitors) in a public competition for funding aimed at filing international patents.
