ULAK Communications Inc. was established on April 20, 2017, by SSTEK Defense Industry Technologies Inc. to conduct R&D and engineering activities for mobile and broadband communication systems used by commercial network operators, as well as the production, testing, assembly, integration, sales, marketing, import, and export of these systems and spare parts, and to provide training, maintenance, and support services. ASELSAN acquired 51% of ULAK Communications Inc.’s shares from SSTEK on October 1, 2018. HAVELSAN Inc. acquired 25% of the company’s shares from SSTEK on February 10, 2020.
In the development of ULAK’s 5G base station, technological advancements were achieved for R&D processes in 5G and beyond technologies by leveraging 4.5G productization experience, field expertise, and advantages derived from similarities between technologies. In addition to its software and hardware development expertise, ULAK Base Stations, which have been providing live services for a long time, quickly resolve all kinds of issues with 24/7 alarm and performance monitoring support. In addition to the base station product offered in mobile networks, ULAK Communications also provides corporate customers with SDN-based wide area network SD-WAN (software-defined wide area network), software-defined data center SD-DC (software-defined data center), and software-defined security SD-Security solutions. These products are used in the infrastructure of many institutions and organizations in Türkiye. Furthermore, the company delve into R&D activities for 6G and patents, intelligent transportation systems (RSU and OBU) as well as non-terrestrial networks.
