About

Åpenhet is a Norwegian registered private non-profit research organisation based in Oslo, established in 2015. Our core expertise lies in the design, development, and deployment of data management and visualisation platforms. We advocate for fact-based policy-making, and increased citizens’ access to information. We believe in the power of data to shape our societies, debates and decisions. Our vision is to promote a more transparent, accountable and efficient world. As a result, we have specialised in building modern, digital tools for international organisations, civil society organisations and policymakers at large to help make their frameworks and data accessible, reliable and actionable.

Our tools help increase decision-making capacity for our partners' activities on topics we care about. Our team members’ hybrid backgrounds, at the crossroads between the public policy and digital worlds, and our ability to understand their respective languages and cultures have been key success factors in the implementation of data platform projects.

At Åpenhet, we believe that a large part of our success in delivering impactful, quality products and reaching unanimous satisfaction and recognition among our clients is a direct consequence of several choices and factors that are integral to our corporate identity as a firm, described below.

Åpenhet’s core identity is related to data: whether the end product is a data management interface, a data analysis module or a data visualisation portal, all our products and services rely on our understanding of data and our ability to fetch and manipulate it. Our various references demonstrate our experience developing advanced, intuitive data visualisation platforms.
