Vilnius University (VU), with its rich heritage dating back to 1579, stands as the largest and leading higher education institution in Lithuania, renowned for its multi-disciplinary academic and research excellence. Research projects will be carried out using Vilnius University's advanced infrastructure, including a recently deployed supercomputer, which significantly enhances the capacity for artificial intelligence and machine learning research. This supercomputer, launched in 2021, offers groundbreaking capabilities with 0.5 Pflops of computing power and more than 50 TB of RAM. It allows up to 0.3 Pflops of performance per task and features a specialized 32-GPU subsystem delivering an additional 0.2 Pflops, which facilitates high-performance computing in machine learning and artificial intelligence development. These computational resources, previously unavailable in Lithuania, enable VU researchers to address practical problems with cutting-edge methods and technologies, solidifying the university's position as a leader in advanced research infrastructure.
