CNR-IRPPS, within our research group, SITA (Social Informatics and Technology Assessment), has robust experience in National and European research projects. Co-creation approaches: These styles of approach include a wide range of practices to facilitate the participation and engagement of stakeholders and users in the project (e.g., workshops, events, SILs, etc.). SSH methodologies: These methods are part of our multi and interdisciplinary approach through which it is possible to map and define social needs and gather users' and stakeholders' points of view. Monitoring tools: These tools provide functionalities to check organizations' or users' performance and to analyse impacts through KPIs and statistics. Communication and dissemination activities: We carry out activities to increase the impact of the project results during all its phases and with special attention given to the target audience. European project participation: We participated in several European projects funded through different programs (e.g., FP7, Horizon2020, Horizon Europe). For some of them, we cooperated in the proposal writing, too. The activities carried out during these experiences made it possible to explore several dimensions of Responsible Research and Innovation, especially Gender equality, Open Access, Science Education, and Ethics, within various thematics and contexts (e.g., GEPs management, marine and maritime issues, circular and biobased economy). AI approaches: Our research group adopts AI approaches for data mining, in particular supervised machine learning (DT, SVM, K-NN), unsupervised machine learning (K-means, K-methods) and Deep learning (convolutional neural network). For the latter, we use a Large Language model (LLM) for a Retrieval Augmented-Generation Participatory platforms: We design social platforms to improve knowledge sharing among stakeholders and citizens, facilitate events/workshop management, and spread good practices, documents, etc.
The Research Institute on Population and Social Policies is an interdisciplinary research institute which carries out studies on demographic and migration issues, on welfare systems and social policies, on science, technology and higher education policy, on the relationships between science and society, on the creation, access and dissemination of knowledge and information technologies.
The research activity is oriented on three main lines: Study of the relationships between demographic trends, social and economic development; Study of social dynamics and welfare policies; Study of the change in society linked to the dissemination of knowledge and information technologies.
